Web Accessibility
It is the goal of the Sanders Unified School District (SUSD) that the information on its website be accessible to individuals with mobility, visual, hearing, or cognitive disabilities. The District is making good faith efforts to ensure the website complies with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and its implementing regulations at 34 C.F.R. Part 104, and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and its implementing regulations at 28 C.F.R. Part 35, by using World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA.
If you use keyboard/mouse alternatives or other assistive technology (such as a screen reader, eye tracking device, voice recognition software, etc.) and have difficulty accessing the information on our website, please contact us at (855) 678-7873. We ask that you provide the URL (web address) of the material you tried to access, the problem you experienced, and your contact information. Be sure to include your name, email address, and telephone number so we can contact you to address the problem and, if appropriate, provide the information in another format.
Please note that some pages on the SUSD website provide links to third-party sites, which are not within the District’s control and may not comply with accessibility standards. The District is not responsible for the content or accessibility of third-party sites.
The District will process complaints or grievances alleging violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act or Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act related to the accessibility of any official District web presence that is developed by, maintained by, or offered through the District, third-party vendors, or open sources.
To file a complaint or grievance regarding the inaccessibility of the District’s public website content, submit a description of the problem, including:
- Your Name
- Your Address
- Date of the complaint
- Description of the problem you encountered
- Web address or location of the problem page
- Solution desired
- Contact information in case more details are needed (email and telephone number)
The District Webmaster who receives this information will take steps to address the issue. Once the District Webmaster is notified of inaccessible content, the appropriate individual(s) will respond promptly to give the reporting party access to the information. The complainant should be given access, whenever possible before an investigation of the complaint is completed.
The complaint will be investigated by the District Webmaster or another person designated by the Superintendent. Normally a complainant will be contacted within 5 working days of the District’s receipt of the information. The District Webmaster will generally follow these procedures:
- Investigation of the complaint will be completed within 15 working days. Extension of this time may be approved by the Superintendent.
- The investigator will prepare a written report of the findings and conclusions within 5 working days of completing the investigation.
- The investigator will notify the complainant of the findings and conclusions and any actions to be taken as a result of the investigation.
- A record of each complaint will be maintained at the District office. The record will include a copy of the complaint, the report of findings from the investigation, and the disposition of the matter.
